LEBO Filomuro doors in a One United Properties duplex in Bucharest

REZIDENȚIALBucurești

LEBO Filomuro doors integrated into a premium One United Properties duplex in Bucharest, with interior design by Voxx Design — a case study on invisible doors that keep walls clean and let the finishes take centre stage.

Project context

In premium residential projects, interior doors are not chosen by model or colour alone. They have to fit into the architecture of the space, respect the design direction and work flawlessly in everyday use.

This project was carried out in a duplex apartment on the 12th floor of a One United Properties building in Bucharest, in the area of the Chinese Embassy. The interior, created by Voxx Design, combines bold finishes: decorative walls, dark flooring, gold accents, black marble, glass and indirect lighting.

In a space like this, the doors were not meant to become dominant elements. Their role was to blend in discreetly, preserve the continuity of the surfaces and let the main finishes remain in the foreground.

The solution recommended by Kulttur: LEBO Filomuro doors

For this duplex, LEBO Filomuro doors were chosen — a system of interior doors with no visible frame, integrated flush with the wall. From the front, the closed door reads as part of the wall surface, and its outline is reduced to a fine line.

The solution suited this project because the interior design called for clean surfaces and as few visual interruptions as possible. In an apartment with finishes such as Sahara Noir marble, gold profiles, glass, decorative wallpaper and dark flooring, a classic door would have cluttered the space.

The filomuro doors allowed integration across several visual registers: discreet white doors, doors that take on the decorative finish of the wall, and an anthracite door in the bathroom.

What LEBO Filomuro is and why it suited this project

LEBO Filomuro is a system of invisible doors, with a concealed frame and no visible architraves. The door is designed to blend into the wall rather than create a visible frame around the opening.

In this project, the main advantage was visual control. The doors were treated as part of the interior composition, not as separate products. In the bright areas, the white finish kept them discreet. In the areas with decorative walls, the door took on the appearance of the wall. In the bathroom, the anthracite finish was chosen to fit the dark, mineral atmosphere of the space.

For architects and designers, a solution like this is useful when the door needs to function, yet must not fragment the wall surface.

Three types of finish for three different areas

White LEBO Filomuro doors

Most of the doors in the project were finished in white, so as to remain discreet in relation to the walls and the rest of the scheme. The rectangular handles, with a metallic finish, are the only visible elements that indicate the door's function.

In circulation areas, this solution helps maintain a clean appearance. The door adds no volume, creates no visible frames and does not interrupt the rhythm of the walls.

Filomuro door with a decorative finish identical to the wall

One of the most important solutions in the project is the door that takes on the decorative finish of the wall. Here, the door leaf is not merely painted in a similar colour — it becomes part of the same visual surface.

The result is the invisible door effect: the outline stays minimal and the door disappears almost completely into the wall. This solution is ideal for spaces where complete visual continuity is required.

Anthracite LEBO Filomuro door for the bathroom

The bathroom has a different visual identity from the rest of the apartment: black marble, glossy surfaces, gold accents and a decorative wall with a botanical motif. For this space, the filomuro door was finished in anthracite, to blend with the bathroom's dark register.

This choice illustrates one of the advantages of filomuro doors: they can be adapted to suit the space, so that each door supports the design of the room in which it is fitted.

The technical detail: the gold transition profile

One detail visible in the project is the slim gold profile between the floor surfaces. It marks the transition between the warm parquet and the dark surfaces without creating a strong visual break.

It is a small detail, but an important one in a premium project. Elements like this call for coordination between design, suppliers and installation. If the profile, the flooring and the door leaf are not correctly matched, the result can look improvised. Here, the transition remains controlled and coherent.

The interior staircase and the duplex context

The apartment is a duplex, and the interior staircase is one of the central areas of the project. The black marble steps, the glass balustrade with gold detailing and the generous chandelier create a powerful image, characteristic of a premium residential project.

In this context, the LEBO Filomuro doors play their correct role: they do not compete with the staircase, the marble or the light fittings, but support the architecture of the space through discretion. They keep the walls clean and allow the main design elements to remain visible.

The working process

In a project of this level, the doors have to be settled early. Filomuro systems are not chosen at the end, once the walls are finished, because the frame, the finishes, the opening directions and the alignment must be coordinated with the rest of the site.

Kulttur's role was to deliver and install the LEBO Filomuro doors in line with the direction set by Voxx Design. The collaboration involved adapting the doors to different spaces, checking the installation details and integrating the finishes so that each door would support the interior composition.

The main challenge was coherence: the same system had to work in different visual contexts, from bright walls to an anthracite bathroom with bold finishes.

The final result

The result is a duplex in which the doors are functionally present but visually withdrawn. In the hallways, the white doors preserve the brightness of the walls. In the decorative areas, the door disappears into the wall finish. In the bathroom, the anthracite door blends into the dark, elegant atmosphere of the space.

Aesthetically, the project shows how Filomuro doors can support a premium interior without crowding it. Technically, the project confirms the importance of correct installation and of coordination between door, wall, flooring, hardware and finish.

It is a relevant example for owners, architects and designers working on premium apartments, duplexes or modern houses where the doors need to be integrated, not simply installed.
