Filomuro doors with concealed frame

A filomuro door is an interior door with a concealed frame whose aluminium rails are installed flush with the wall and then covered with plaster, filler and paint or cladding. Filomuro systems can be integrated in both masonry and plasterboard walls, with installation details adapted to each wall type.

The result is a 'concealed-frame door' without visible casings or trim, recognisable only by the thin line of its contour. Though sometimes called 'frameless doors', the frame of a filomuro door exists — just hidden in the masonry or plasterboard. Choose between filomuro doors with wood finish, painted finish (white, RAL colours, dark tones), unfinished doors prepared for on-site finishing, or doors hidden in decorative panels.

Filomuro doors bring clear advantages for premium projects: no visible casings or trim, the walls stay clean and simple; the aluminium frame is installed before finishes, with fewer later repairs; the clean lines reduce dust-collecting edges; doors can be MDF painted, veneered or prepared for wallpaper, offering flexibility and very good sealing with improved acoustic and thermal comfort. They are ideal for small spaces, hallways, narrow corridors, dressing rooms and storage you want visually hidden.

On the other hand, some disadvantages to consider: a filomuro door costs more than a standard or glass door — it includes concealed aluminium frame, concealed hinges, magnetic lock and made-to-order production; installation is more technical and requires a specialist team synchronised with other finishing work; future repairs or replacement can be more difficult because the assembly is integrated into the wall. In many projects, the aesthetic and functional benefits outweigh these drawbacks, provided design and execution are handled correctly from the start.
